As I mentioned in my last newsletter, the 2025 vintage got off to a good start and maintained this trend until 2 August, when a severe hailstorm hit us at around 10 am, destroying up to 80% of the harvest in some vineyards. Read more here.

Our vineyards were badly affected and seemed “stuck” for about a month, but fortunately, they then recovered and the remaining grapes began to ripen again — partly thanks to treatments involving stimulating algae. However, another hailstorm hit the vineyards in the evening on 24 September.

Something good was left, but not much. This year, we will produce perhaps four or five labels, including Primo Incontro, El Gian and Orso Gentile, which are part of the new line (link to the website page), as well as the Cuvée dei Vignato and a little of our Cul d’Oro passito. We may also be able to produce a small quantity of Col Moenia, but we will find out during the cellar work. Fortunately, the careful management of our warehouse and stocks from previous years means we can meet our customers’ demands. In my opinion, 2025 is a vintage to forget!
