Every now and then, there is some good news that is particularly uplifting, especially after a demanding year like this. A few days ago, I received a communication from the editorial staff of Civiltà del bere, informing me that some of our wines had won the silver medal at WOW! The Italian Wine Competition.
What pleases me most is that the wines were evaluated blind by an international panel of professional tasters, who rewarded not only the wines’ quality, but also their ability to reflect their place of origin.
And that’s what matters most to me. When working in the vineyard and cellar, I always try to allow the grapes, soil, and vintage to speak for themselves, without altering what nature provides.
It is a great satisfaction to know that this work is also recognised by people who taste our wines without knowing their name.
The award-winning wines are Cuvée dei Vignato Spumante Pas Dosé, l’Orso Saggio Monti Lessini Durello DOC 2023 and Cul d’Oro Veneto Passito Garganega IGT 2021.
In short, they’re a few nice medals to add to the collection. But, above all, they’re another reason to continue working as we always have: with passion, attention to detail, and a touch of stubbornness!
