2025 has just ended. It was an important year, full of gratifying experiences. It was exciting and challenging, but always in a positive way. It was gratifying because I met and spoke with many people who drink my wine, both regular customers and those who have recently discovered my bottles, from close by and far away. Since a glass of wine is a symbol of togetherness and happiness, I am filled with gratitude and delight at meeting so many people who enjoy my wine. It was exciting because, in some places, I felt as though I were on a rollercoaster — just like at the spring fairs or on tours abroad in November! From 12 November onwards, I travelled to Canada and around Italy via Paris, to visit customers and importers, and I attended numerous meetings and enjoyed countless dinners and drinks. A very exciting journey. Despite it being a difficult time for our sector, it was an important year for us because our sales grew in some countries. This is significant not only for the income it generates but also for the trust and commitment it inspires! It was also a very challenging year. In order to maintain sales in 2024, we had to work much harder, from tending the vineyards and harvesting the grapes to making sales trips and investing time, money, focus, and effort. It was positive because I have the best job in the world. Seeing so many people enjoying a good glass of wine makes me realise that any experience becomes more immersive, exciting, engaging, and full of positive energy.
Even in 2026, there will still be a lot of work to do to raise the profile of Gambellara’s volcanic wines as well as my own wines. I have already planned many trips to consolidate existing markets in Europe, Asia and other overseas countries, with the aim of establishing new markets. I believe that fairs such as Vinnatur and RawWine are important events because they give us the opportunity to meet lots of people, including those who live far away. We are about to acquire new land as well as new machinery to protect us from late frosts, which have unfortunately become the norm. Both will be equally crucial in the future. I see it as a year in which those who have the knowledge, courage, and strength to roll up their sleeves with intelligence and precision can reap great rewards, and I intend to be among them, in 2026 too!
