Harvest 2024 has just ended. It began by mid-September with the harvest of Garganega grape for Primo Incontro, then it continued the following weeks without any particular problem. Honestly, by the end of September the weather has been rainy, so we had to slow down, but rain fortunately has cooled down the temperature and this helped grapes ripening. In the end we harvested Garganeg for el Gian, Col Moenia and Sera.

Garganega is a late ripening grape variety. The best period to harvest Garganega is October, when days are shorter, it’s colder outside and fragrances develop a lot thanks to the temperature change between day and night. Now that grape bunches are all harvested, in the winery there is a delicious aroma of wine must in fermentation. The following days are going to be demanding working on pourings, batonage and fillings until November, then everything will be ready for Winter rest.

Harvest 2024, even if it’s been very hard as all the vintage, is going to be higher in quality and quantity than last year, but we’ll wait for winter to pass before giving overall opinions. At the moment fermentation is regular, summer rains helped a lot and lees are working well. The first wines have been poured and the winery smells of fruity and floral aromas, typical of Garganega grape variety, that I’ll try to reproduce in every single bottle.
