At a challenging time for the global wine industry, we have chosen to strengthen our presence and build closer relationships with our customers and partners, in order to share our vision of wine.

In recent months, we have participated in Meteri Pocket tastings aimed at industry professionals alongside other winemakers. These tastings were organised by our Italian distributor in some of Italy’s most important cities. We organised tasting sessions of Garganega and Durello Vulcanici di Gambellara in Padua, Bologna, Turin, Milan, Florence and Monopoli, which took place on Mondays in April and May. The events were very successful and the enthusiasm was palpable. Orders of wine from different places were not long in coming.

Another significant event was also the first trip to Asia, specifically Japan! On 8 May, I flew to Tokyo, where I stayed for ten days to take part in the Raw Wine Fair alongside many artisan winemakers from around the globe. I also visited various customers, organising tastings, wine presentations and evening events in different locations. My importer, Vino Pontaccio, is extremely dedicated. There is a strong connection with him, and I believe that Italian artisan wines are currently popular in the Japanese market. During the fair, we met many people who were looking forward to the imminent arrival of wine, and many operators wanted it in their establishments immediately! Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to properly explore Tokyo because of the tight schedule. However, I was fascinated by how clean, organised and disciplined the city was, and by how warm and grateful the people were for our efforts in delivering our products there.
