The month of April is traditionally the month in which Italian wine-related events take place. For a few years now I have chosen VinNatur, the most important and historical natural wine fair in Italy, which this year will be held from 13 to 15 April at the Margraf showroom in Gambellara (VI), practically on my doorstep. The association was created with a very specific aim: to unite the forces of winemakers from all over the world who wish to defend the integrity of their land, respecting the history, culture and craft that have been handed down over time, and inspired by a strong ecological ethic.
Producing wine in a natural way means respecting the land, the vine and the natural cycles. It also means experimenting to limit the use of invasive and toxic chemicals in general, first in the vineyard and then in the cellar.

The aim of the association is to protect the individuality of wine from the chemical standardisation that industrialisation has brought to winemaking, by promoting studies and scientific research, spreading knowledge of natural and innovative techniques, also through the organisation of special events such as this.

Thanks in part to Vinnatur, awareness, sensitivity and the search for ‘natural wine’ have been on the rise in recent years, as have other new movements and dedicated events. I remain loyal to VinNatur and its creator, Angiolino Maule, because we are like-minded, we share the same vision of this world, and we have made similar choices over the years. It will be an opportunity to “travel” through all the wine-producing regions of Italy and some European countries, to meet and get to know the producers and to purchase directly the wines selected for tasting.

I will participate with my wines and you will have the opportunity to taste my Cuvée dei Vignato 2018, one of my most recent creations, which has been aged on the lees for as long as 60 months. You cannot miss it!
